Q1 2023 Update

Thanks to your support, Hope to Home is on course to deliver another record year of Hope, furniture and home goods to those in need.

From the warehouse so far this year (January through March), we have delivered and fully setup furniture and other household goods, to over 55 households valued at nearly $55,000!

We delivered: 86 Beds and frames, 66 Dressers, 40 Kitchen Tables, 152 Kitchen Chairs, 18 Microwaves, 50 Sofas, 45 stuffed Chairs, 49 Coffee Tables, 76 End Tables, 85 Table & Floor Lamps, 65 Linen Kits, 36 Kitchen Kits and so much more.

Most of all, we delivered Hope, as we set up homes, laughed and prayed together. We have turned empty and often depressing places into bright, comfortable, safe “homes”; places of new beginnings.

As one veteran told us in February, “Before I had some hope. But, now, look at all this nice stuff! I have a home!”

Another left us a tearful voicemail in March full of thank you’s which ended, “Now I get my life back! And, I especially want to thank you for the Bible. It means so much to me.”

One final story worth relating came to us via email regarding a young mother who was reunited with her children. It read:

“She was a very young mom attending Families Count, a Christian-based parenting class. Her two children had been removed due to domestic abuse. She also suffered from substance abuse and homelessness. She worked hard in the parenting class and was able to secure low-income housing. Hope to Home then stepped in and completely furnished her new apartment in such a way she would be eligible to get her kids back. She is really grateful and is getting involved in her local church as she continues to make changes to improve her and her children’s lives.”

Through your generosity, you have enabled us to bless not only those in need of a new home, but volunteers who have found it a “life changing experience “. And, being 100% volunteer, we are able to focus our entire budget and volunteer effort on serving those in need. Last year and so far this year, 98.7% of all donations went into our program.

And, we continue to provide support to over 15 other agencies helping veterans, the homeless as well as women and children escaping domestic violence and human trafficking. We also continue support the Charleston Police Department’s Community Outreach effort and two prisoner release organizations.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support.
